A Manomet man was among those arrested in a major investigation which saw 63 people arrested by Plymouth and Norfolk county law enforcement agencies in an investigation into oxyxodone related offenses.
According to information from the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office, Daniel Melzard, 37, of Evergreen Drive was charged with Uttering A False Prescription for Controlled Substance, Fraudulently Obtaining Possession of Controlled Substance and Possession of Class B Substance.
In July of 2011, the State Police Detectives Units assigned to the Plymouth County District
Attorney’s Office and the Norfolk County District Attorney’s Office, along with the State Police
Diversion Unit, the Norwell Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration
Diversion Unit conducted an investigation into the use of false prescriptions to fraudulently
obtain oxycodone from various pharmacies within Plymouth and Norfolk Counties.
